KSA and club fundraising opportunity

Hi Sally,

Could you send the below email to all our club delegates as a high priority please?

Hi all,

KSA as a whole are trying to find ways for all of our clubs to work together with fundraising. As you know our club rooms definitely needs some maintenance and instead of slugging the clubs with more fees we are trying to develop ways to fund raise the money and also help individual clubs with fundraising.

Baseball have come up with a great idea below. We would love an expression of interest from all clubs over the next few days to see if we can get some traction. Put it out on your clubs Viber, Team App or Facebook, whatever way you communicate and see if we can get some numbers. Please read the email below from baseball.

Our thoughts are to make a game that all can play in a social and fun environment, so we came up with a game that combines Soccer, Softball/Baseball and Dodgeball.
The rules of the game are as follow (can be refined):
– game to be played on a softball/junior baseball size diamond
- Teams are 5 a side
– a dodgeball/nerfball to be used
- The offence (batting/kicking team) kicks the ball into field of play and must immediately run to first baseball. The ball must be fair, if it comes out at the foul lines, the “batter” is out
- The defence (fielding team) must retrieve the ball and try and get the runner out. There are 4 ways to get the runner out 1. Catch the ball on the full, 2. Get the ball to the base fielder before the runner reaches the base, 3. Tag the runner with the ball and 4. Try and hit the runner with the ball “dodgeball” style (the runner must not deviate from the lines between bases to avoid the ball)
- 3 outs and it is side away
- The offence teams goes through their “batting” line up until 3 outs are reached
- Fielding positions are: 1 at first base, 1 at second base, 1 at third base, 1 at left field and 1 at right field (5 per side)

There will be 5 innings max and the team with the most runs scored wins. We think a round robin style of play would be implemented and the teams with the most wins, wins the group. We are hoping for 4 groups, juniors (up to 13) intermediate (13 to 17), senior (17 to 40) masters (40+)

The idea is that you pay $100 entry per team ($20 per player). 50% of that entry goes to the club entering the team and the other 50% goes to KSA (ie if the soccer club enters 10 teams @ $100 = $1,000. $500 goes to the soccer club and $500 goes to KSA). If all 4 clubs enters 10 teams (@ 5 players per team = 50 players per club) that equates to $2,000 raised for KSA.

We have booked this in for Sunday the 15th of July to try and bring in funds asap to KSA.

We would do this on the baseball field (to avoid interfering with current season games) and could potentially have 4 fields setup. We understand that Soccer/Hockey are in their current season and any available players would be great. The more teams involved, the merrier. As mentioned, baseball will be doing this regardless (if we are the only club participating, then 100% funds raised will be going to our club).

This would also be a great way for you as a club to start the registration process and commence fundraising, so if your members have some newbies bring them out for a day of fun.

Please respond as soon as possible (this week) to give us an indication.

Thanks
